Report on the "Churches Together" Good Friday Procession of Witness and Service in the Market Place 2008:

"Heavy wintry showers with a strong cold Northerly wind". This was the weather forecast for the 2008 Good Friday morning in Wallingford. As it turned out there was, in contrast, lovely bright sunlight to accompany the strong but VERY cold Northerly wind!

Christ is Risen! Maybe it is little early for this greeting if, as hoped, you read this around the time of Palm Sunday. Nevertheless, even as we remember the sad and awe-inspiring events of Holy week and then Good Friday, we know that the joy of Easter is coming.

Our Events:

Short talk by David Rice (St Mary’s, Wallingford) and Ted Ripley (Ridgeway Community Church, Wallingford): “What DO we believe” topic 2: “How do we DO Church?”, Tuesday April 1st at Cholsey Free Church at 8pm:

Churches Together AGM  The speaker will be Wim Mauritz of “Tearfund”. Over the past 12 months CTWA have given £510 to “Tearfund” for Darfur. Before joining “Tearfund” Wim spent two years working in Darfur. Thursday May 8th, 7.45 for 8pm, at The Baptist Church

Band Concert (Teas by CTWA!) Sunday 14th September - 3 to 5pm..

Autumn Celebration on Sunday 19th October. Venue to be confirmed.
